Course Description:
This will be a faced paced class designed to develop the critical movement skills necessary for the defensive shooter utilizing a carbine. Building on the fundamental marksmanship skills learned in earlier courses, students will learn combat marksmanship concepts and begin moving dynamically to and from cover and within the battle space with a carbine.

In order to minimize yourself as a target students will begin changing their shooting profile by utilizing various elevations because they are important for overall success and safety.

Heavy focus will be placed on weapon manipulations for this course to ensure students know exactly how to fix their weapon when things go wrong. Proper reloading and malfunction clearance skills will be addressed and drilled to ensure the weapon system is always in the fight. External stressors will be added to increase difficulty and find failure points.

The reality of a defensive encounter with a criminal threat includes the potential of using only one hand to both fire and manipulate the weapon. For this reason we will dedicate course time to introduce and drill techniques that will establish familiarity and establish motor skills for success under stress.

In a dynamic and rapidly changing combat environment it may be necessary to work with either a partner(s), spouse or others who find themselves caught in the fray. Proper communication and mounting techniques will be covered to begin familiarizing students with concepts necessary for success and safety.

With elevation changes and rapid movement comes the need for students to possess the physical agility to accomplish drills in the class. Students will be moving and will be going from standing to kneeling for most of the class. Please consider physical limitations when registering for this class.

Finally, bring the right attitude. Come with an open mind to learn new concepts and try them out.

Minimum 600 rounds of factory ammunition for carbine and 200 rounds for handgun.
