Chris Keegan - Lead Instructor

Chris is a former certified Law Enforcement General Instructor for Defensive Tactics, Weapon Retention and Chemical Agents and has instructed numerous other courses for one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the Southwest. Over his 20 year career in sales, management and law enforcement Chris has developed an approach to his teaching that allows him to be effective to all levels and styles of learners. This is a critical talent that is needed as an instructor for students that can be young adults, highly educated professionals or senior citizens trying to learn new concepts, in a highly stressed environment, anywhere from traffic control and radio procedures to defensive tactics and mechanical restraints.

With an extensive background in firearms, which started in his youth from a family of outdoorsman and law enforcement, he has been active in his lifetime development of personal protection and concealed carry techniques, as both a student and instructor, and is a valuable contributor to the development of the Prepared Defensive Action training program. As a former member of the firearms training unit within a law enforcement agency for over 5 years Chris conducted training classes for handgun, shotgun, rifle and judgmental use of force as a Firearms Instructor

Chris' commitment to his craft, as a firearm instructor for both civilians and law enforcement, shows in his professional and encouraging teaching style. "Having the ability to relate to students with the skills and experience necessary for effective learning," says Chris, "whether it is in law enforcement or for day to day people just like me, is what I want to bring to our courses. I pride myself on bringing everything together for the student and find the joy in seeing the switch come on and knowing at the end of class that they get it."
